HAPO is present at the 1st Arab-Hellenic Food Conference.
Mrs. Lara Barazi Geroulanos, member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization (HAPO), represented the Greek fish farming industry at the 1st Arab-Hellenic Food Conference, held online on the 5th and 6th of October, organized by the Arab-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Development. The purpose of the Conference was to explore the possibilities and opportunities for cooperation and mutual exchange of expertise between Greek and Arab companies and organizations.
The issues discussed included a wide range of business sectors, and related food industries and services, including fish farming – a leading industry in Greece, in terms of production and exports.
On behalf of HAPO, Lara Barazi Geroulanos presented data confirming the key position and dynamics of Greek fish farming, in the domestic and international market and informed the participants on the goals set by HAPO, the main developer of aquaculture in Greece.
Mrs. Barazi also stressed that the existing collaboration with the countries of the Arabian Peninsula will continue and can be further strengthened, as there is great opportunity for sharing Greece’s technical knowledge of aquaculture and related technology in areas such as fish health and welfare, market proficiency, international trade relations and corporate governance.
