Four well-known Greek food journalists and a chef, HAPO ambassador Yiannis Bourodimos, arrived on the island of Corfu on Thursday afternoon, on their way to visit the HAPO fish farms on the Sagiada Strip, in Western Greece, close to the Albanian border.
The team crossed from Corfu to Sagiada by chartered boat where they visited several cages, a hatchery and a packing plant, accompanied by HAPO President Apostolos Touralias and HAPO VP, Yiannis Hekimoglou as well as the representatives of local member fish farms. The visit ended at a taverna in Igoumenitsa where lunch consisted of meagre from a local fish farm, grilled to perfection, and a lively discussion on all things (farmed) fish with HAPO’s representatives. Then back to Corfu by boat to catch their return flight to Athens.
