HAPO offers fresh, Greek aquaculture fish to the Municipality of Filiaton’s Social Market

The Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization (HAPO), developer of Greek aquaculture that represents 80% of domestic aquaculture production, actively supports the Social Market at the Municipality of Filiaton in Thesprotia, where several HAPO Members operate their fish farming units, by offering fresh farmed fish on a monthly basis.

The first delivery took place on Friday, April 16, 2021, during which HAPO offered 240 farmed Sea Bream to aid residents who benefit from the Social Market’s activities. The monthly donations will be made possible thanks to the help of local fish farms – HAPO Members, who operate in close partnership with the Municipality of Filiaton.

Fresh aquaculture fish with the FISH FROM GREECE certification are raised responsibly under strict guidelines at HAPO Members’ fish farms. They have a high nutritional value, are rich in Omega-3 fats and contribute to a healthy and balanced diet.

This donation falls under a series of initiatives included in HAPO’s comprehensive Environmental and Social Responsibility program, which includes port and seabed clean-ups all across Greece, as well as farmed fish donations to vulnerable social groups and children.
