The Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization sponsors the Blue Economy Forum II

The Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization (HAPO) sponsored and participated in the deliberations of the Blue Economy Forum II on «The Green-Blue Recovery and the UN Ocean Decade», organized by the EPLO Institute for Sustainable Development in collaboration with Delphi Economic Forum, on Tuesday February 22.

The aim of the conference was to adopt an integrated approach over the pressing issues related to the maritime and coastal zone as a par excellence opportunity for sustainable development.

Lara Barazi-Geroulanou, HAPO Board Member, CEO of Kefalonia Fisheries and President of the Federation of European Aquaculture Producers (FEAP), Ismini Bogdanou, Director of Communication and Public Relations for HAPO, Dr. Arab Hoballah, Executive Director of SEED, and Filippos Papageorgiou, Director of the National Fisheries Development Program, Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia, led the discussion on “Food from the Oceans: Fisheries and Aquaculture”, moderated by journalist Maria Nikoltsiou.

Focusing especially on the sustainability of Greek aquaculture, HAPO representatives spoke about research programs, EU aquaculture’s contribution to the “Green Deal” and “Farm to Fork” strategies, and the advertising and communication tools used to promote Greek fish farming.
