Thessaloniki, Tuesday 3 March
In 2018, the Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization (HAPO) launched the Fish from Greece Cooking Academy program, with the aim of strengthening culinary education and introducing students to fresh Greek farmed fish.
The initiative has two main objectives: first, to provide selected fresh Greek Fish from Greece products to students of culinary and gastronomy schools, ensuring high quality and authentic flavor in their educational courses; and second, to organize training seminars featuring renowned chefs.
In 2024, HAPO began its collaboration with IEK Delta 360 in Thessaloniki, further strengthening the connection between culinary education and the Greek aquaculture sector.
During the first seminar of 2026, chef Efthymis Tsakiris prepared dishes for the students, presenting innovative techniques and creative approaches to cooking fresh Greek farmed fish.
At the same time, ichthyologist Dimitris Pafras, representing HAPO, presented the role of the Organization and the key characteristics of Greek aquaculture, providing students with valuable insight into the sector and its sustainable production practices.
