The event was organized on the initiative of Dr. Dionysia Avgerinopoulou, Member of Parliament for Ilia Perfecture with New Democracy and Chair of the
Parliamentary Subcommittee on Environment & Water Resources, as part of her ongoing commitment to environmental protection, water resource management, and sustainable development.
The Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization (HAPO) sponsored both the networking dinner, featuring Fish from Greece (FFG) fish, and the conference itself. HAPO also participated in the panel discussion entitled “Greek Aquaculture at a Crossroads: Institutional Solutions, Competitive Strategies, and Scientific Innovation.”
The panel featured:
Alkistis Parpoura, Director General of Fisheries, Ministry of Rural Development and Food;
Konstantinos Bokas, Chairman and CEO of Plagton S.A., and Board Member and Treasurer of HAPO;
Pavlos Avramidis, Professor of Sedimentology, Department of Geology, University of Patras.
The event received strong support from the Municipality of Andravida–Kyllini, the Regional Unit of Ilia, and the Region of Western Greece.
