Tuesday 6 – Thursday 8 May- At the Seafood Expo Global 2025, which took place in Barcelona from May 6 to 8, the Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization (HAPO) participated with an impressive 300m² booth, which hosted Member Companies, clients, visitors, and constructive discussions about the challenges and impasses facing Greek aquaculture, which hinder its further development.
The Ministry of Rural Development and Food (MRDF), invited by HAPO, was represented by the political leadership—Deputy Minister Mr. Christos Kellas and Secretary General Mr. Georgios Stratakos—as well as Ms. Georgia Papaioannou and Mr. Stamatis Kampolis from the Directorate General for Fisheries & Aquaculture, and Ms. Efthymia Giokala, Head of the Managing Authority for the Maritime and Fisheries Program (EMFF). Mr. Pantelis Gasios, Head of the Economic and Commercial Affairs Office in Madrid, and Mr. Andreas Pappas, President of the Spanish-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce in Madrid, honored HAPO with their presence and participated in the discussions and visits to the Greek booths of the Exhibition.
The daily live cooking events at HAPO’s booth attracted the interest of many Greek and international visitors. Chef Mr. Konstantinos Vassalos, along with his team, presented daily delicious creations based on the main species produced by HAPO’s 21 Members: sea bream, sea bass, meagre, and red porgy.
The booth, with a strong Greek identity and dynamic promotion of HAPO’s Members and fresh Greek farmed fish Fish from Greece, was curated by the company Promo Solution, a valuable and long-standing partner of HAPO in international exhibitions.
HAPO’s consistent presence and promotion at international exhibitions highlight its outward-looking nature, the international orientation of its 21 Members, and Greece’s position as a leading producer of high-quality fresh farmed fish.
