Greek aquaculture, healthy nutrition and sport come together at Lake Stratos
Agrinio, Wednesday 19 – Sunday 23 August 2026. Lake Stratos became a meeting point for Europe’s rising generation of sporting talent, hosting the 2026 IWWF E&A Youth Championships U14 & U17. Young athletes from across Europe came together to compete at the highest level of youth waterskiing, while experiencing the natural beauty, hospitality and local production of Aitoloakarnania.
As part of this international sporting event, the Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization (HAPO) brought the taste and value of fresh greek farmed Fish from Greece to the heart of the Championships, highlighting the important role that quality nutrition can play in an active and healthy lifestyle.
The initiative showcased fresh Greek farmed sea bream and sea bass, carefully raised in the clean waters of Aitoloaakarnania. For the young athletes and participants, HAPO offered the possibility to discover a high-quality Greek food product that combines nutritional value, freshness and versatility.
The location itself added a strong local dimension to the initiative, since it is one of Greece’s important aquaculture regions, and the presence of HAPO at an international event hosted in the area offered a unique opportunity to showcase both the region and the quality of Greek farmed fish to an international audience. The participation in the 2026 IWWF E&A Youth Championships reflects its broader commitment to promoting fresh Greek farmed fish, supporting healthy eating habits and strengthening the international profile of Greek aquaculture.
