HAPO supports the 7th Aquaculture Day at the University of Patras

Thursday, November 29 — On the occasion of Aquaculture Day (November 30), the Department of Fisheries & Aquaculture of the School of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Patras, with the continuous support of the Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization (HAPO), opened its doors for the seventh consecutive year to knowledge and innovation through the three-day event “Open Aquaculture Day” at the University of Messolonghi.

The opening session began with greetings from Ms. Ismini Bogdanou, HAPO’s Communications Director, and Mr. Konstantinos Bokas, Member & Treasurer of HAPO, who also had the honor of presenting HAPO’s three annual Excellence Awards to postgraduate students of the “Sustainable Fisheries – Aquaculture” program.

This year’s award recipients were: Ioannis Ioannidis, Ioannis Markou, and Ourania Tsoumpeli.

With a clear and consistent vision to attract the most talented young scientists to a dynamically developing sector, HAPO awards a total of six scholarships every year:
three for the University of Patras and three for the University of Thessaly, Department of Agriculture, Ichthyology & Aquatic Environment.

In this way, HAPO not only supports students—it cultivates the future of Greek aquaculture.
