Izmir, 18–22 January
The 4th Women4Aquaculture training program was held in İzmir, Türkiye. It was organized by the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) in collaboration with the Federation of European Aquaculture Producers (FEAP), with the participation of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EİB).
This innovative program brought together women from across the aquaculture sector in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, focusing on investment readiness, leadership, and navigating the increasingly complex and rapidly evolving aquatic food sector. Through a combination of expert presentations, knowledge exchange, and technical site visits, participants explored how technical, operational, and business decisions interact in practice.
Beyond strengthening individual skills, the training fostered knowledge sharing and regional networking among women professionals, turning long-term commitments to gender equality into practical action for more resilient aquatic food systems.
The Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization (HAPO) was strongly represented by its members.
