31 July 2014- With great success, and in the presence of Mayor V. Tzigos, Deputy Mayors, Municipal Councilors, and a multitude of visitors, the first of the tasting evenings was held in Filiates, organized by the Thesprotia Aquaculture Association, the Municipality of Filiates, the Thesprotia Regional Unit, and the Thesprotia Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization (HAPO).
This series of events aims to showcase fresh Greek fish and promote a culture of their consumption.
The event offered visitors the opportunity to enjoy high-quality products from Thesprotia’s fish farming industry, which has emerged as one of the most dynamic and outward-looking productive sectors in the country.
With accompanying local agricultural products and wines, the tasting provided a unique experience that highlighted the culinary excellence of Greek fish while also attempting to cultivate a culture of seafood consumption, known for its high nutritional value and health benefits.
