HAPO Sponsors the World Food Day Event of the Hellenic Nutritionists Society (ELDE)

For the Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization (HAPO), highlighting the nutritional value, quality and safety of fresh Greek farmed fish is essential to consumer choice and is closely linked to scientific knowledge, trust and transparent communication.

Recognizing the key role nutrition experts play in informing the public, HAPO systematically invests in its collaboration with ELDE and participates in initiatives that highlight the nutritional value of Greek farmed fish, their place in a balanced diet and their contribution to heart health. The aim is to address myths and misconceptions and strengthen consumer confidence through scientific research and evidence-based information.

As part of this collaboration, HAPO sponsored and participated with fish tasting the annual World Food Day event, organized by the ELDE and the “Apischansis – Logo Diatrofis” network of dietetic centers. The event showcased the taste, quality and nutritional value of fresh Greek farmed Fish from Greece.

During the event, Ismini Bogdanou, HAPO’s Director of Communications, addressed the question: “How do Greek farmed fish compare with wild-caught fish in terms of quality and safety?”

She responded: “Both fish are excellent dietary choices. Greek farmed fish are produced within an organized framework of controls and food safety requirements. What matters is ensuring quality, traceability and accurate consumer information. Our goal is not to position farmed fish against wild-caught fish, but to highlight their value as part of a balanced diet.”
